ABOUT THE GAME

HANGLER is a short survival horror game in which you are tasked with exploring the depths of a long abandoned mine finding the emitter, a strange crystal emitting radiation that's believed to exist at the very bottom of the frozen caves.

You will of course not be alone down here, there's a species of "Hanglers" that have made their home in these tunnels, guarding the emitter. They are usually stationary unless triggered, doing so is not recommended.

Beat seeds, unlock new ways to play, and be fast. There are some secret special seeds if you can discover them.

Show your slick moves sliding on the slick ground, or stay slick and avoid detection.

MADE IN 9 DAYS

All that you will see in this game has been pieced together over 9 days by just me (i wanna go to sleep) for the Bigmode Game Jam 2026, and the idea was quite ambitious but I hope you enjoy what the game ended up being.

CONTROLS:

Standard Movement

LEFT SHIFT to Sprint / Hold Left Stick

F to Throw Flare / Left Trigger (Once Unlocked)

ESC to Pause or Skip Intro / D-pad Left

LEFT ALT to Toggle Seed Display / D-pad Down

This game has partial gamepad support (excludes UI interaction, might have bugs, not recommended)
